Srinagar to host 3--day exhibition ‘Rise in J&K 2026’ Expo from tomorrow; Event will showcase India’s developmental journey; opportunity for youth, students, entrepreneurs to get direct access to leading national institutions

Srinagar, Jun 16 (KNO): Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Ghulam Ali Khatana on Tuesday said that Jammu and Kashmir’ is all set to play a major role in India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation by 2047. Addressing a press conference here ahead of the upcoming 3-day exhibition, “Rise in Jammu & Kashmir 2026” Khatana, according to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said, “The event will serve as a major platform to connect citizens with institutions driving the country’s development and innovation.” The function is scheduled to be held from June 17 to 19 at SKICC in Srinagar. “The exhibition is a significant public outreach initiative to showcase India’s developmental journey and the transformative changes taking place across multiple sectors.” He said, “It will highlight progress in infrastructure, science and technology, healthcare, agriculture, education, energy, environment, innovation and public service delivery.” Khatana said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is witnessing unprecedented progress across various sectors and Jammu and Kashmir is increasingly emerging as an active participant in the country’s development story. “The exhibition aims to connect citizens particularly youth, students, entrepreneurs, researchers and aspiring professionals with institutions that are driving national growth and innovation,” he said. He added the function “Rise in Jammu & Kashmir 2026” will serve as a platform for creating awareness about flagship national programmes, technological advancements, scientific achievements and development initiatives that are contributing to the vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047. Khatana said the event reflects the spirit of inclusive development and public participation while encouraging greater engagement between citizens and nation-building institutions. He said the exhibition will not only showcase India’s achievements but will also inspire the youth of Jammu and Kashmir to contribute meaningfully towards the realisation of the Viksit Bharat vision. He added the event is expected to bring together some of the country’s leading public sector enterprises, scientific institutions, government departments and development organisations on a common platform, creating opportunities for interaction, learning and collaboration. The MP said the exhibition is expected to witness participation from several prominent organisations, including NHPC, BIS, ICMR, ISRO, CSIR, ICAR, APEDA, Northern Railway, IRCTC, CPCB, Survey of India, POWERGRID, HURL, NFL, NBCC, REC, NTPC, TRIFED, National Jute Board, NAFED, the Department of Atomic Energy and various other public sector undertakings, research institutions and government bodies. He said visitors will have the opportunity to explore thematic exhibition pavilions, technology demonstrations, innovation showcases, citizen awareness campaigns and interactive displays designed to facilitate direct engagement between institutions and the public. Khatana said the exhibition has been envisioned as a landmark initiative aimed at highlighting India’s achievements, fostering collaboration, promoting innovation and strengthening public awareness about the country’s developmental initiatives. The event is expected to attract students, professionals, entrepreneurs, researchers, policymakers and members of the general public from across Jammu and Kashmir, he added—(KNO)
